Rust and Momentum

I picked up a brush, put some paint on it, and after a lengthy stare down with the canvas, I painted something. But there was much rust and confusion. And I thought, why do I do this to myself again and again? Exercise, painting, music, blogging, etc. I get on a roll, I get some good momentum, a full head of steam and then I stop. And I say tomorrow I'll pick up again, and tomorrow comes and goes, and then a year passes and then I am back at the beginning, step one or two of a thousand mile journey. Deja vu all over again. Enlightenment gained and lost. The genie back in the bottle. Another comeback to come back from. Will I ever learn?

Will any of us? Hey, I haven't finished a song in forever. Totally stuck trying to figure out/rejecting/giving up on finding a groove/melody/whatever. Let's make a pact and scrape off the rust together.

I thought you were rustproof?

But seriously, let's keep it moving.
